Prepoll and postal vote information
Early voting for the 2010 House of Assembly election is now closed.
If you are going to be out of your division, or for some other valid reason not able to vote in person on polling day, you must vote early.

Pre-poll voting centres
Early voting for the 2010 House of Assembly election is now closed.
Open from Wednesday 14 April (normal hours 9am to 5pm – open until 6pm Friday 30 April):
Hobart – Hobart Area Office, Second Floor, AMP Building, 86 Collins St
Launceston – Lyons Division Office, Ground Floor, 87 George St
Burnie – Braddon Division Office, First Floor, Harris Building, 49 Cattley St
Open from Monday 19 April (normal hours 9:30am to 5pm – open until 6pm Friday 30 April):
Glenorchy – State Library, 4 Terry Street
Tasmanian electors travelling interstate can vote early at any Australian Electoral Commission Divisional Office.

Need a postal vote
Early voting for the 2010 House of Assembly election is now closed.
If you need a postal vote for the 2010 Legislative Council elections you must first apply.
You can obtain a postal vote application from any post office from any electoral office or print the online postal vote application.
Overseas electors
Early voting for the 2010 House of Assembly election is now closed.
Overseas electors can either apply online for a postal vote or a new express vote.
Return of applications
Applications for a postal vote must reach the returning officer before:
-
sent within Australia – 6.00pm Thursday 29 April; or
-
sent from overseas – 6.00pm Tuesday 27 April.
Return of Postal votes
An elector who has applied for and received a postal vote must, before the close of polling, complete the ballot paper, place it in the declaration envelope, sign the declaration; and
The returning officer may receive envelopes until 10.00am Tuesday 11 May.
