Remote area voting for the 2010 Legislative Council elections

Early voting for the 2010 House of Assembly election is now closed.

A voter in a remote area will soon be able to apply for their area to be declared a remote area and to be issued with an express vote.

For an area to be declared a remote area, the Commissioner must be satisfied that electors in that area do not have a sufficient postal service to make use of normal postal voting procedures.

Note: people intending to visit remote areas can vote by pre-poll at any electoral office in Australia soon after the announcement of nominations.
