What a great opportunity to give back to the community that has accepted us since we moved here seven years ago. Plan is to work hard at putting forward people’s concerns and resolve as many as possible. I come from diverse positions across Australia having background in agriculture, marine infrastructure and tourism ventures.
I would love to address the local internet problem, get behind our already great elder care facility and facilitate with local food and beverage suppliers to provide more coverage for our locals and increasing tourism numbers. A chance to be a voice for all.
After having been a regular visitor to the Peninsula for many years my wife and I recently purchased an acreage at the top of Cooks Road. It is a special place. I see being involved on council as a way of working with the community to identify opportunities for societal and economic growth, opportunities that will help alleviate the disadvantage that is often found in regional/country settings across our State. As with any opportunity explored, they will also need to be balanced with ensuring that the Peninsula remains as one of the most spectacular environments on Earth.
I’m a passionate, community-minded Tasman resident. I’ve run businesses and I am a dedicated volunteer. I managed the local community bank. I am president of the Rotary Club, I was the Tasman Business Association’s first chair, and I also chaired the Koonya Garlic Festival. I’ll bring my skills and experience to making sure our area is financially sound and prosperous. If elected, I am committed to ensuring council priorities reflect community expectations. Good management, building the tourism economy and sensitive development are priorities for me. I hope to have your support for councillor.
