Statements appear in alphabetical order but the order of names on ballot papers is rotated.
Number the boxes on each ballot paper from 1 onwards in the order of your choice.
For the election of 7 councillors, number the boxes from 1 to 18 in order of your choice. Number at least 5 boxes to make your vote count.
For the election of mayor, number the boxes from 1 to 7 in order of your choice. Number at least one box to make your vote count.
For the election of deputy mayor, number the boxes from 1 to 4 in the order of your choice. Number at least one box to make your vote count.
Put your completed ballot papers in the ballot paper envelope, which is the smaller envelope with the wider flap, and seal it securely.
Sign your ballot paper envelope in the box on the flap to declare that you are the voter named on this envelope and you have voted on the ballot papers in this envelope. You must sign the envelope and leave the flap attached — or your vote won’t be counted. The returning officer will remove the flap with your details on it before opening the envelope.
Then put your ballot paper envelope in the reply-paid envelope — the larger envelope — and seal it.
Post your reply paid envelope straight away (no stamp needed), or take your vote to the Burnie City Council office.

It has been an incredible honour to serve as Mayor for the city I love. My first term focused on restoring financial sustainability. We’ve delivered that, and Burnie has now turned the corner. With strong new management, investment growing and seeds sown across our city, the next four years will see Burnie soar. I have poured my heart into this role, giving everything I have to serve every corner of a community I am deeply proud of with passion, integrity and kindness. The development we are seeing today is just the beginning. If the will of the people, I would be honoured to continue leading.

I've lived in burnie for nearly 71 years. after I finished my schooling, I obtained an apprenticeship within the education dept as a Painter for 20 years, after my apprenticeship I ran a locally owned Painting business for the next 30 years. I am now retired, still living in burnie with my wife and still active in the community within different organisations. the things I would like to see change within this election and for sitting for council and mayor are, we need to be working collectively as a team within the council.

My wife and I chose Burnie to raise our family. Like you, I want real value for our rates; better roads, easier parking, and a lively CBD. With 20 years in tech (14 in IT, 6 in cyber security) and as a local business owner, I know how to manage big projects. Council is rolling out its Digital Transformation Strategy. I will use my skills to oversee this, ensure its fit for purpose, and make sure your money is spent wisely. We need responsible leaders who get things right. Vote 1 Alex Day for Deputy Mayor & Councillor.

I'm Ken Dorsey, seeking Mayor and Councillor for Burnie. With 12 years on Council and 30 years in management, I bring proven leadership and business acumen. Council is a "we," not an "I" — I'll open up decision-making with town halls and open question time. I've driven CCTV installation and the Safer City patrol model, backed the CBD Activation Committee to fill empty shops, and supported Stable One to tackle homelessness. Burnie is on the cusp of real growth — with the right leadership, we can build a safer, thriving city for every family and business.

Burnie needs leaders who show up, listen and get things done. Born and raised in Burnie, I’m a local business owner, Councillor and long-serving volunteer firefighter. Over the past four years I’ve turned ideas into action, championing tourism, events, our CBD and better promotion of Burnie. I will continue to fight for responsible spending, affordable rates, jobs, investment and a vibrant CBD. I bring energy, common sense and an independent voice, and I’m ready to do more. For practical leadership and a stronger Burnie, Vote 1 Justin Grave for Deputy Mayor and Councillor.

“Just an honest everyday bloke”. I work both in the Education system in Burnie and in retail so I work and talk with the diverse range of people living in Burnie constantly and understand their needs and concerns. I feel the council needs people from all walks of life with diverse experiences because of their different strengths and weaknesses and I’d like to continue to keep Burnie’s finances heading in the right direction while still striving to improve the city.

Burnie is moving forward. Trusted leadership will keep it going. As your councillor I’ve worked hard to get our city's budget into shape. As your Deputy Mayor, you can trust me to deliver what comes next: West Park Plan, sports precinct, finishing the Coastal Pathway, and a safe, welcoming city centre where people spend time and businesses invest. All this while keeping costs as low as we responsibly can, with every dollar spent accounted for. I act with integrity and transparency. Every decision starts with one question: Is this right for Burnie? Vote 1 Amina Keygan, Deputy Mayor & Councillor

As a CEO, Chair, Director and investor in businesses large and small, I’ve been responsible for creating and employing over 1,000 people. I’m standing to put that experience to work for Burnie. Happily married for 16 years, family man, my passion is volunteering in various community groups, a member of the Church, and I have worked the last 10 years in the Courthouse as an Officer.
