Follow these five easy steps:
Candidates were invited to provide a statement and photo for your consideration. Statements are reproduced here as provided by the candidate.
Statements appear in alphabetical order but the order of names on ballot papers is rotated.
Number the boxes on each ballot paper from 1 onwards in the order of your choice.
For the election of 7 councillors, number the boxes from 1 to 16 in order of your choice. Number at least 5 boxes to make your vote count.
For the election of mayor, number the boxes from 1 to 5 in order of your choice. Number at least one box to make your vote count.
For the election of deputy mayor, number the boxes from 1 to 5 in the order of your choice. Number at least one box to make your vote count.
Put your completed ballot papers in the ballot paper envelope, which is the smaller envelope with the wider flap, and seal it securely.
Sign your ballot paper envelope in the box on the flap to declare that you are the voter named on this envelope and you have voted on the ballot papers in this envelope. You must sign the envelope and leave the flap attached — or your vote won’t be counted. The returning officer will remove the flap with your details on it before opening the envelope.
Then put your ballot paper envelope in the reply-paid envelope — the larger envelope — and seal it.
Post your reply paid envelope straight away (no stamp needed), or take your vote to the Northern Midlands Council office.

I am the third generation of my family to live and work on Wellington St Longford, in the Northern Midlands, after grandfather George Carins started his business here in 1901. I was raised to be proud of the beautiful place I came from and to work for that community where I could. I will apply my skills as an experienced businesswoman, journalist and newspaper proprietor and as a councillor for the past four years to lead a council which works together to serve the needs of its community.

I am seeking your support again for Councillor and also for Deputy Mayor of Northern Midlands Council. I have lived at Longford all my life and participated in many community organisations including Chair of Longford District Committee, President of Longford Show, a member for 30 years of Longford Rotary Club and President twice. I am a farmer and our family runs an agri-tourism and heritage business at Longford. My experience in business, community and Council will be valuable assets for Deputy Mayor. For future prosperity, livability and sustainability, I believe good governance is vital.

I am standing for Mayor and Councillor because the Northern Midlands deserves a fresh start and a positive way forward. I am asking for your vote because I will bring strong, accountable and community-focused leadership. With years of experience working with communities, businesses and organisations, I understand our challenges and opportunities. Council should listen to residents and work with the community, not against it. I will be transparent, manage ratepayers' money responsibly and ensure residents have a voice. Together, we can build a Stronger and more united Northern Midlands.

I currently own and run a mobile cereal seed grading business servicing the agricultural industry state wide, and also run a mechanical repair and service c

I’m a young Tasmanian and mum of two who has made my home in Cressy. With a background in community pharmacy & customer service, I have a strong drive to help people and provide the best solutions within a given budget. My plan for the future of the Northern Midlands is centred around accessibility. I want better access to services and amenities, especially for our rural communities. I also want our council to be more accessible for better communication and consultation with our constituents. What I lack in experience I make up for in a willingness to listen, learn and advocate for ratepayers.

Our community deserves a council that listens, works together and makes responsible decisions with your money. We need a council that understands the importance of small business and community needs. I am a local of 30 years, am approachable and accessible. I know I can’t fix everything overnight, but I promise to listen and take concerns to the council chamber to fight for the best outcome. Together I believe we can build a stronger and more united community, which is why I am asking for your vote.

PROVEN — NOT JUST PROMISED. 13 years as a Police Officer. Awarded the Police Medal for Diligent and Ethical Service, and formally recognised for OUTSTANDING INTEGRITY. 18 years building my own multi-award-winning businesses. Leadership roles including Chair and President across national, state and local boards and committees. 10 years volunteering as a speaker and mental health advocate. I believe in VERIFIABLE FACTS, not gossip. EVIDENCE, not agendas. ACTION, not empty promises. I will listen, ask hard questions, scrutinise spending and stand up for ALL our communities.

I have been honoured to serve as Mayor for eight years. 12 years of good management has seen a transformation from ageing infrastructure across the municipality to new facilities in our towns, sporting grounds, roads maintained, new footpaths, shared pathways, playgrounds, thousands of trees planted, and streetscape upgrades. We need respectful Councillors happy to work together to govern the Northern Midlands with a focus on health and well-being for our communities and businesses. I am re-standing as a Councillor to support good candidates. I live off grid with a focus on community.

I have lived and worked in Campbell Town for over 15 years as a business owner. I am standing for Council with the following aims: To restore community confidence in the Council. To improve accountability and transparency in decisions made by the Council and how ratepayers’ money is spent. To keep increases in rates and other fees to a maximum of CPI. There is a perception that Council decisions have been dictated to us with very little understanding of our community interests or needs. To effect change we need a fresh new Council which truly reflects the views of the community.

I introduced Pringles to Australia. I introduced accountability to this council. Next we need an Evandale Medical Centre, and I will move for a zero rate rise in year one. Four in ten of you backed me for Mayor in 2022 - I needed five. I did not sulk. I got to work and kept every promise I made. $135,000 of unlawfully spent ratepayer money, recovered. The airport rates wastage, stopped. Now $599,000 of your money spent behind closed doors on a purchase nobody will explain. Not bad luck. It's a habit. Habits change when the chair changes. I ask because you pay. Vote 1 McCullagh for Mayor.

I am nominating for Councillor and Mayor of Northern Midlands Council. I bring more than 12 years’ experience as a CEO leading multimillion-dollar organisations, together with senior local government experience in planning, farming, development, tourism and economic development. I know how to lead teams, manage large budgets, plan strategically and get things done. I offer a fresh, independent, non-aligned voice. collaboration, responsible management of ratepayers’ funds and delivering positive outcomes for our communities.

I care deeply about social justice, democracy, animals and the environment. I have worked as a veterinarian in the community for 29 years. I have experience in collaborative, evidence based policy development and advocacy. Granted the honour, privilege and responsibility of election I promise to listen to you and work hard with all councillors to ensure meaningful and long lasting decisions are made. Council decisions affect our everyday lives. I look forward to working together to ensure that the Northern Midlands remains a beautiful and safe place to live in now and for generations to come.

I’m a 7th generation Nth Midlands farmer & my heart belongs here. I volunteer on committees including local District, History & Museums while running a successful vineyard business. I appreciate the opportunity to stand & represent you with transparent, respectful & thorough consultation that occurs before Council decisions are made. My priorities include supporting vital services such as doctors, safe roads & communities, heritage & responsible, inclusive planning. A firm believer in a Council that leads with a “how can we help” attitude, I ask for your No. 1 vote as Councillor & Deputy Mayor

Effective leadership is built on trust and working with the community to develop long-term strategic plans to meet your needs. I am committed to transparency, accountability and better governance. Experienced in local government and have spent my career improving council finances and operations. I will advocate to cut red-tape, deliver better planning and work to keep our rates down. I am committed to delivering sound economic investment, responsible development and improved infrastructure that will contribute to our area’s growth whilst protecting our environment and unique heritage.
