2025 State election

Quiet voting hour

Quiet voting hour is a one-hour period from 10:00 am to 11:00 am during the early voting period for the state election.

Quiet voting hour is designed to support people who may feel discomfort in environments that are noisy, have bright (often artificial) lighting and are crowded.

A quieter, calmer voting environment with natural or dimmed lighting may be helpful for many people, including those who identify as neurodivergent, who are hard of hearing or who feel anxious in busy spaces.

All eligible voters are welcome to vote during quiet voting hour.

If you attend a pre-poll centre to vote and see a ‘Quiet voting hour now in progress’ sign near the entrance, please be mindful to keep your voice down and place your phone on silent/vibrate mode.

Quiet voting hour is not available on polling day, Saturday 19 July.
