Don’t delay, late votes can’t be counted. Failure to vote may incur a fine.
Follow these five easy steps:
Candidates were invited to provide a statement and photo for your consideration. Statements are reproduced here as provided by the candidate.
Statements appear in alphabetical order but the order of names on ballot papers is rotated.
Number the boxes on each ballot paper from 1 onwards in the order of your choice.
For the election of 7 councillors, number the boxes from 1 to 10 in order of your choice. Number at least 5 boxes to make your vote count.
For the election of mayor, number the boxes from 1 to 4 in order of your choice. Number at least one box to make your vote count.
For the election of deputy mayor, number the boxes from 1 to 4 in the order of your choice. Number at least one box to make your vote count.
Put your completed ballot papers in the ballot paper envelope, which is the smaller envelope with the wider flap, and seal it securely.
Sign your ballot paper envelope in the box on the flap to declare that you are the voter named on this envelope and you have voted on the ballot papers in this envelope. You must sign the envelope and leave the flap attached — or your vote won’t be counted. The returning officer will remove the flap with your details on it before opening the envelope.
Then put your ballot paper envelope in the reply-paid envelope — the larger envelope — and seal it.
Post your reply paid envelope straight away (no stamp needed), or take your vote to the Glamorgan-Spring Bay Council office.

After more than 25 years variously as Councillor, Deputy Mayor or Mayor, I have the experience, understanding and appreciation for how local government decisions impact communities. Continuing community consultation-based forums to ensure we listen to our residents and ratepayers should be a high priority. The role of councillor and mayor requires an understanding of business as well as planning and good governance with a solid understanding of the Local Government Act. I will bring experience, stability, respect, integrity and ethics to the role of councillor and mayor

Having spent the last four years on a steep learning curve with what a councillor can and can’t achieve. I feel excited, to do another four year term with your support . The influence of a councillor is different to what many ratepayers may think, including me prior to election!. I have been lucky enough to help ratepayers from Buckland to Bicheno negotiate their way through various local and state government peculiarities! This is my passion, helping ratepayers and small business in navigating a workable solution to their issues. With your support I hope to do this for another four year term.

I have appreciated serving our Glamorgan Spring Bay community during my term as Councillor. I believe my record has shown an ability to listen, to seek understanding, and to reply and represent community concerns. An unbiased view when decision making on behalf of community is important, particularly community’s standard of living by maintaining infrastructure, and interrelated health and wellbeing. Community events are an important opportunity to listen and discuss issues of concern, but my priority is to the people of GSB, what are their ideas and aspirations to carry forward into the future

I’ve lived and worked as a GP in Bicheno for 12 years. I loved childhood holidays on the East Coast and cannot imagine leaving it now. As a rural health and education advocate, I want our community to learn, work, play and age well. I value our emergency services. I believe tourism and development must protect and respect our heritage, natural values and character. I offer accountability, a willingness to serve, and a commitment to listen. Standing for council, I want local voices to shape our future, services to stay strong, and for growth to never compromise our unique way of life.

I am standing as a candidate for councillor and mayor of the municipality because I care about the future of our region.Having lived in this municipality all my life,I understand importance of maintaining a strong, connected, and sustainable community.I want to bring my experience, common sense, and commitment listening to the residents to the role.I would try to ensure the ratepayers that their money is used carefully and decisions provide value to the area.Support planning and development needs for the future.Seeking to serve from Whitemarsh to Douglas River

We need a Councillor and Mayor who listens, communicates, collaborates and brings vision and voice. I aim for a kind and caring community governed with integrity and transparency. Born in Nottingham UK I was first in my family to go to uni. I graduated from Edinburgh and Cambridge Universities. After an international career I became Professor of History at UTAS. With early retirement and a sea change to Swansea I’ve worked in tourism in wineries and retail. I’m founder of the Swansea Facebook Group, reporter for Great Oyster Bay Community News and am organising Mental Health Week for Swansea.

As current Deputy Mayor, I will continue working to keep downward pressure on rates, with a focus on long-term planning and careful expenditure of ratepayers’ money. I have a productive and positive working relationship with the General Manager and his team. Having lived on the East Coast for 30 years, I understand our municipality and its residents. I want to protect the attributes we love about living here, while advocating for employment opportunities and sensible, sustainable growth that benefits our community.

I would be honoured to serve as a Councillor, bringing over 46 years of local government experience to Council, including 21 years as a senior executive. With a deep understanding of councils, I will be effective in helping to deliver the services and infrastructure you deserve. I stand for absolute transparency, ethical standards, and responsible, sustainable financial management to ensure maximum value for you. As a collaborative leader experienced in state and federal advocacy, I will ensure Glamorgan Spring Bay has a strong, trustworthy voice. I am committed to working tirelessly for you.

My aim is to ensure greater transparency in council; to promote local businesses and initiatives; to be an effective conduit to council for ratepayers' concerns; and to encourage the participation of young people in all areas of local government and council affairs.

As a sitting Councillor for 17 years, with sound judgement and experience I seek your number 1 VOTE for COUNCILLOR and DEPUTY MAYOR of our wonderfully diverse Municipality. The past few years have been very challenging for Council and ratepayers, and I believe it is time for stability which I will help to facilitate. I aware that our infrastructure needs throughout the municipality are in continued need of serious consideration for the future health of our area, along with many other issues of concern to you. I am dedicated to being your continued voice for GSBC with your number 1 VOTE.

The TEC makes only limited, standard changes needed for consistent publication of candidate statements and photographs. It does not otherwise correct, rewrite or alter a candidate statement, or change a candidate’s appearance.
