Results of the ballots for the South, North, North-West and Cape Barren Island regions.

Note, no ballot was required for the Flinders Island group as there was a single candidate who was therefore elected unopposed.


2024 election

In accordance with the Aboriginal Lands Act 1995, elections were held for 8 members of the Aboriginal Land Council of Tasmania (ALCT).

To vote or to stand for election to the ALCT, a person must have their name entered on the ALCT Electors Roll, which includes those people who were enrolled at the 2021 elections and those who applied for enrolment in 2024 and whose names were transferred to the Electors Roll.

The members of the Review Committee that assisted with the enrolment process for the 2024 ALCT elections, referred to on pages 8 and 9 of the Enrolment and Elections booklet, were: Greg Brown, Sally Cann, Carla Jennings, Michael Mansell, Annette Peardon and Theresa Sainty.

Close of objections to enrolments  5pm Friday 19 April 2024

Objections accepted or rejected by  Thursday 23 May 2024

Nominations period

Nominations open  Thursday 13 June 2024

Nominations close  12 noon Wednesday 21 August 2024

Voting period

Ballot papers posted to electors  Monday 2 September 2024
