Telephone voting

If you have a print disability, you are eligible to use the telephone voting service. The Tasmanian Electoral Commission defines a print disability as:

  1. vision impairment or blindness,
  2. a person unable to hold or manipulate written material or to focus or move their eyes,
  3. physical dexterity problems such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, arthritis or paralysis,
  4. a learning disability, such as dyslexia,
  5. a brain injury or cognitive impairment,
  6. literacy difficulties, or
  7. early dementia.

More information about how to use this service will be available in the week commencing Monday 30 June.

Other assistance available

Electors may ask polling staff for assistance when voting in person. On arrival at a polling place, ask for the polling place manager, who will be happy to explain the approved assisted voting procedures. These include nominating another person to assist you at a voting screen or, for those unable (due to a disability) to enter the polling place, having voting material brought by an electoral official to your car.
