Ways to vote

Polling day for the 2026 Legislative Council elections is Saturday 2 May 2026. Voting is compulsory for electors in the  divisions of Huon and Rosevears. You can vote in person at a polling place on polling day. If you are unable to do this, you need to vote early. Supported and alternative voting options are available, as well as information about polling place accessibility.

Vote in person on polling day

Available from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday 2 May 2026 at any polling place in Huon or Rosevears.

Vote early at a pre-poll centre

Available at selected locations from Monday 13 April for voters who cannot attend a polling place on polling day.

Vote by post

Available by application for voters who cannot attend a polling place, either during early voting or on polling day. Applications close at 4 pm on Friday 24 April. If you are interstate or overseas, telephone voting is recommended.

Available from Monday 27 April to 2 May for voters who are interstate or overseas, or who have a print disability.

Voting at your nursing home or hospital

Mobile voting teams will visit selected nursing homes and hospitals in the week commencing 27 April.

VI-Vote (vision impaired voting support)

VI-Vote terminals are available at selected locations during the early voting period and on polling day. These specially designed systems provide enhanced audio, visual and printing capabilities to support independent voting for people with vision impairment or low vision.

Quiet voting hour

Quiet voting hour is available from 10:00 am to 11:00 am during the early voting period. It is designed to support people who may feel discomfort in environments that are noisy, brightly lit or crowded.
