Information for candidates

  Nominations have closed.

If you wish to stand as a candidate in either the Central Highlands or Dorset council by-election, nominations open at 9 am on Monday 18 August and close at 12 noon on Tuesday 26 August 2025.

To complete the nomination process, you need to submit one nomination form and one (optional) candidate statement. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that both are lodged by the close of nominations time and date above.

The term of office of the elected councillor will be until the completion of the next ordinary election, which is due to be held in September/October 2026.
