2021 State election

A general election for the House of Assembly was held on Saturday 1 May 2021. Tasmania has 5 divisions: Bass, Braddon, Clark, Franklin and Lyons. Five members are to be elected for each division.

Remember, voting in the House of Assembly elections is compulsory.

2021 Tally room

Federation Ballroom, Hotel Grand Chancellor, doors open 6pm.

Following consultation with Public Health, the Tasmanian Electoral Commission is pleased to be providing a COVID-Safe tally room tonight, Saturday 1 May, for the 2021 State Election. You are welcome to attend, and must comply with the following COVID-Safe measures:

  • Check-in with the ‘Check In TAS’ app
  • Remain seated inside the tally room space
  • Sanitise your hands when moving between rooms
  • Maintain 1.5m physical distance unless seated
If you are experiencing symptoms, have visited a high-risk location, or have been advised to self-monitor for symptoms, you must not attend.
